About No Waste Nutrition

Eating well doesn’t have to be complicated. Or expensive! We’re here to help you save money, reduce food waste, and eat better.

Hate to Cook? Same!

Until we looked at the numbers. The average family of four throws away $1,500 a year on wasted food AND spends $3,000 just on dining out. Cooking and eating at home transitioned into a money saving challenge, and it became FUN! And we’re wasting less food!

You’ll only find easy and customizable recipes here, along with budget friendly and time saving kitchen hacks!

Ready to Make a Sustainable Shift?

Sustainable living can actually be very budget friendly. Tiny shifts, starting at home, can really improve our overall environmental footprint. Reducing food waste (and waste in general) is a great place to start!

MEET THE FOUNDER

Erin Hendrickson, RDN

(A registered dietitian who never really learned to cook)

I’ve been immersed in food culture my entire life. I grew up on a farm, started working in the restaurant industry the second I was old enough, and I’ve eaten my way through several different countries. I LOVE FOOD!

But cooking? No thanks!

It was never a priority. Who has time?

Until I became interested in personal finance. I love to budget. And saving money for things that matter to me….like travel, local cuisine, and investing!

And did I mention how much I hate waste? I’m a minimalist at heart, and will choose experiences over things 100% of the time.

Minimalism led me to deep dive into the sustainable living movement. I learned how much waste we create as consumers.

Food waste, plastic waste, and clothing waste all impact the environment and our wallets negatively.

Then I began studying the similarities between the sustainable fashion and food industries. More and more people are choosing quality over quantity.

We want to know who made our clothing, who grew our food, and that they’re both free of harmful chemicals and conserve Earth’s natural resources. And that the garment factory workers and farmers alike are paid a living wage.

It was actually my love for capsule wardrobes that brought the 5×5 meal planning method to life!

A smaller wardrobe means I mix and match different pieces together to create new outfits. I tested the same strategy out in the kitchen, and it’s been a game changer in my household!

The 5×5 meal planning method

The idea is to choose 5 seasonal ingredients to create 5 or more meals and snacks combined with pantry and fridge staples. It’s helped me get creative in the kitchen, save money, and cut back on food waste!

And now I actually enjoy the entire cooking process! There’s still a lot to learn!

You can get all the recipes and details on the first 5×5 meal plan HERE.

So whether you’re trying to create less food waste, save money, or figure out the whole meal planning and cooking thing, you’re in the right place!
